The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 21 additional COVID-19 cases, taking the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong to 4,755.

Among the new cases, 18 are locally transmitted and three are imported.

Fourteen local cases are related to previous ones, while the other four are those with unknown sources of infection.

The centre’s Communicable Disease Branch Head Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan said at a press briefing this afternoon that the new cases include a social worker who is related to the Hong Chi Lei Muk Shue Hostel cluster.

She added that one more resident of the hostel has preliminarily tested positive for the virus.

Additionally, the Hospital Authority reported that 427 confirmed COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised and 4,200 confirmed and suspected patients have been discharged.
