The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating nine additional COVID-19 cases, taking the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong to 4,810.

 

Among the new cases, seven are locally transmitted and two are imported.

 

At a press briefing this afternoon, the centre’s Communicable Disease Branch Head Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan said that one of the local cases is a resident of Hong Chi Lei Muk Shue Hostel residential care home.

 

So far, 12 residents and six staff of the care home have been infected, she added.

 

Additionally, the Hospital Authority reported that 343 confirmed COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised and 4,342 confirmed and suspected patients have been discharged.
