We are, as a whole, better equipped than previous generations to deal with a plague like Covid-19. The human race has made tremendous medical and technological advances, making it easier much to test, trace and isolate those infected. It would seem entirely reasonable to expect the world to understand that solidarity will get us all through the biggest global crisis in a century, and yet this is not the case.
